Wardrobe Planning Hits and Misses Volume 1 Week 3

This past Sunday I published my 4th Sunday night weekly wardrobe planning video on IMG_0880the Closet Reboot YouTube channel.  Angela Britt and I are giving away a “cashmere” necklace by Premier Designs (see left) this week so be sure to check out the video so you can be entered into the drawing!  I have to admit, these videos are getting more and more fun to make each week and I’m finding the exercise really helpful!  My hope is that my followers/subscribers are finding the videos helpful and inspiring as well so when one of them (Danielle Adams) suggested that I post a collage of me in my outfits at the end of the week, I decided to take her up on it.  Here’s how last week worked out…

Last week was a short week because of my Montreal trip (I’ll be discussing those outfits next Thursday in my Fabulous Food, Fun, and Fashion in Montreal – Part 3 post) so I only had 2 works days and a happy hour day to plan for.  The food in Montreal was so good that I was worried about fitting into the form fitting outfits my pal Christiane Waldron2018-06-13 18.35.57-1 picked out for me.  But all the walking in Montreal payed off and everything fit well enough to wear – yay!  Wednesday I was on site with a client all day and then I had a Women Who Lead Commercial Real Estate happy hour hosted by Boyar Miller that evening.  Boyar Miller always puts on amazing events that are informative and provide great networking – love those folks!  This event was no exception and I met some wonderful ladies doing amazing things.  Big thanks to Christiane who encouraged me to wear my 17 year old Gucci shoes also know as the “Lucy Liu” shoes since I saw her wear them once on Ally McBeal which won a few mentions and always make me feel great!

IMG_0817Thursday was another full day at my client’s site and another chance to wear the fabulous “black flared top” by Galvan in my latest Rent the Runway Unlimited shipment.  Christiane paired it with my favorite slim black pants from White House Black Market and some Mister Abrasivato chunky black heals from Tamara Mellon – color on color, Babie!  We accessorized with an old costume pearl and black bead necklace of my grandmother’s.  The blouse was probably a little heavy for Houston this time of year, but its so cold in the office that it felt very comfortable inside.  It was slightly snug, but really, its so fabulous that I didn’t mind at all.  Love love love this blouse!  But thank goodness for RTR Unlimited because at $725 retail, I’d never buy it.  And it makes such a statement that I’m not sure how often I’d wear it.  So far so good with RTR Unlimited!

IMG_0883Friday I was supposed to have a casual happy hour with a IMG_0893friend, but that got reschedule so I ended up saving the outfit Christiane picked for me to wear for a Father’s Day celebration instead.  Again, I was a bit worried my white faux leather skirt wasn’t going to fit, but it worked with this cotton top Christiane picked out that I would never have thought to put with it.  I also took my denim jacket along which seems to come in handy since I’m continually cold.  The denim shoes ended up working great too – especially with the jacket.  Saturday I spent hanging out and running errands in my souvenir t-shirt from Montreal – very comfy!

So I’d say this week was a win!  If you’d like to hear more about how Christiane made her choices or be entered in a drawing to win the Premier Designs cashmere necklace, check out our wardrobe planning video on the Closet Reboot YouTube channel.  A big thank you to Danielle for suggesting this post and Christiane for helping me out!
